Daredevil: Director's Cut Blu-ray Review

Daredevil: Director's Cut Blu-ray Review
Written by Loys Johnson

Video
Fox brings Daredevil: Director's Cut to Blu-ray with a 1080p AVC/MPEG-4 video transfer. The film looks good for the most part, with vibrant colors and great detail in any well-lit scene. Grain was featured quite heavily, but also only in darker scenes. Black levels are solid, and detail is great, particularly during any close-up shot. 8/10.

Audio
A DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track is included, and is definitely reference. The film's score is aggressive, and makes fantastic use of the surround speakers. From the music, to the fight scenes, to the little details, lossless audio makes it all clear. I expected the soundtrack to sound great, and was still pleasantly surprised. Dialogue is very clear, and never felt low. Daredevil is an audiophiles dream. 10/10.

Blu-news Summary
Daredevil may not be one of the better superhero action films, but still manages to be quite decent. The cast was pretty good, and the overall film was entertaining. The video presentation and audio presentations are both fantastic, and extras are quite packed as well. Fans of Daredevil should definitely pick up the Blu-ray, others I say 'Worth A Look.'
