The Love Guru Blu-ray Review

The Love Guru Blu-ray Review
Written by Loys Johnson

Video
The Love Guru makes a Blu-ray debut with a 1080p AVC/MPEG-4 video transfer, and it's very easy on the eyes. The colors are very vibrant, and black levels are always deep and solid. Detail was strong, with very few scenes looking slighly less impressive. Certain films looked extremely amazing, and could definitely compete with some of the best transfers on the Blu-ray format. The film looks fantastic, and viewers will not be disapointed with the video presentation. 9/10.

Audio
English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD is included, and sounds rather mediocre. I didn't expect much with the audio to be honest, and it was just what I expected. The film does not sound bad by any means, but really isn't impressive in most aspects. It's true to the source, with no actual audio defects, but the film stays very front heavy. Dialogue is the main importance of the film in the audio department, and it does sound nice and clear. Overall it was a decent track, although nothing that will 'wow' you whatsoever. 7/10.

Blu-news Summary

The Love Guru is a mixed bag for me, there is a lot to hate about the film, but also a few things to like about the film. The toilet humor does get obnoxious, but there were some very funny moments. Overall I enjoyed it for what it was, a decent comedy. The video presentation is very strong, and I was definitely impressed. The audio was decent, doing a good job with the source, but not much more than that. Extras were decent, and all in high-definition. The behind-the-scenes was pretty interesting, and fans of the film will definitely be happy with what is included. 'Give It A Rent.'
