"Trevor, is someone chasing you?" - Marie
"Not yet. But they will when they find out who I am." - Trevor Reznik
The Machinist comes to Blu-ray with a 1080p AVC/MPEG-4 video presentation. Those who have seen the film know the color style used in the film, and while that may discourage some from considering a Blu-ray purchase, rest assured it still looks very nice. Detail reaches very impressive levels. This won't ever be demo material, and it looks about as good as it can get on Blu-ray. 8/10.

A 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio track is included, and sounds nice. It's far from impressive, but the track is quite fitting to the film. Dialogue is front and center, as are the majority of sound effects and music. They all lightly enter the surround area, but never aggressively. It's a track that will please fans, but not impress. 8/10.

Blu-news Summary
The Machinist is such a great and interesting film, it's very immersive and quite the experience. The film is a bit disturbing, but anyone with curiosity should check it out. The film lacks replay value for me though, while I did enjoy it very much, I don't see myself watching it again. I know many who absolutely love this film and will watch it again though. I would recommend that you 'Give It A Rent' first, but it's ultimately 'Recommended.'
